Team Leader, “Fizikafa (DEMODTÜ)” Project
Middle East Technical University (METU) Physics Education | 2014 – 2016
Founded and led a team of METU Physics Education students to develop and deliver physics demonstrations for high school students. The project also produced educational materials aligned with the high school curriculum, helping teachers create classroom demos.
Organizations and Events Attended within the Project:
XI. National Science and Mathematics Education Congress, Adana (09/2014)
This study aims to develop outcome-oriented scientific demonstration experiments in Turkish to support physics teachers in effectively using demonstration experiments in classrooms across Turkey. To address these gaps, a team of nine senior students from METU’s Physics Education Department created concise, Turkish-language demonstration experiments that can be performed using simple materials. Additionally, comprehensive materials were prepared, including step-by-step experiment guides, lists of required materials, real-life applications, and teacher support guides. This project provides accessible, engaging materials designed to increase student participation and support meaningful learning in physics. It also offers valuable resources for schools with limited laboratory facilities, giving teachers alternative ways to deliver effective and curriculum-aligned physics education.
